We are proud to have the following testimonials from several of our many satisfied customers.

CAMPBELL FAMILY
My husband and I first were introduced to concrete home construction at a friend’s home. We were having a meeting in her basement and noticed that the temperature was the same as it was upstairs. It was not the typical temperature drop you get with normal basements. She then told us about the other pluses of concrete homes, such as lower fuel bills and quietness. She lived on a busy street, but it was very quiet in the home.

We continued to investigate concrete home construction for the next four years before deciding for ourselves that it was the smartest and the most fuel efficient way to build. We met the Cranes at the Indianapolis Home Show. We were both impressed by their professionalism and experience in building concrete homes. Plus they are very concerned with “green” construction. From the first meeting when we showed Larry our home plan, he was very concerned with following our wishes, yet could look at the plan and point out construction difficulties that has probably saved us thousands of dollars. Having a father that was in construction, I know that most of the process is in anticipating difficulties before you have to spend more to fix the problems.

Aaron and Adrian have helped us immensely in the whole process of building our home. We have been able to “tweak” our home at several places to give it our personal touch. They are always open to our ideas and input. Unless you always know what you want, it is very important to be able to make changes as you view your project.

We would recommend building with concrete forms and the Cranes for any construction project. We have been very happy with the whole process.

Larry Crane and I first met in August of 2004; at that time, I ascertained that he was operating a small business interested in innovation and latest methods of house construction. Both were characteristics of great interest to me. As a small business, his company had the flexibility I desired, and knowing that they kept up with the current practices was just the ticket!

I prefer to be somewhat involved with the actual construction process since there’s only one chance to get that part right. During design in early 2005, Larry walked me through the methods used for crawl space construction, framing, and roofing. I was very concerned about energy efficiency and Larry worked with me on building envelope and insulation and appliance selection to achieve the desired endpoint.

Construction commenced in Q3 2005 and Aaron came through during actual construction as well as the utilities and trim. If I had questions, concerns, or even a change order, Aaron handled all with skill and calm efficiency. Aaron had many usable suggestions for arches, pocket doors, planning the electrical outlets, the plumbing locations including hot water heater and water softener, and designing the wood trim of the dining room living room and tray ceilings. Larry was an essential resource when the original kitchen cabinets’ vendor discontinued service; Larry found another vendor for the same cabinets at an even better price!

The service continued after the house closing in January 2006. Aaron and Adrian diligently pursued the final punch-list items (minor cosmetic issues) until closed, and they are now finishing the one year closure items (minor cosmetic issues). I am very happy with the house, energy bills are well within my expectations, and I am pleased with the subcontractors’ response for HVAC tune ups. sprinkler system maintenance and plumbing touchups.

One more final feature of working with Crane Builders - it’s a local family business. I like giving business to families and the Cranes are a tight-knit, respectable and respectful family. I’ve met Larry’s wife, the two sons and daughter, and all have been very cordial and helpful towards our mutual endpoint - fine quality construction and an enjoyable building experience.

I would recommend Crane Builders to any persons desiring a certain level of owner involvement in the construction, a local family owned business, and innovation in the construction itself.

We are so delighted with our ICF home, designed and constructed by Crane Builders. It’s on one of the best financial decisions we have ever made.

We first learned about ICFs while watching and episode of Extreme Home Makeovers. They built a home for a family whose little boy had extreme allergies. We thought, “Wow! I bet that would keep out dust, allergens, mold, etc.”

We’re happy to say, we don’t have dust accumulations like we had in our previous stick frame house. The ICF construction has cut the housework in half!

Living in Indiana during the spring and summer can be a little scary at times. While living in our previous home, a tornado came within a block of hitting us and many homes in our neighborhood had severe damage. Knowing that these ICF walls are built to withstand winds up to 200 mph makes us feel a lot more secure.

We are also very pleased with the energy saving opportunities the ICF construction has provided. Our energy costs are far lower than with a stick frame house. For the first year in our ICF home, our combined total gas and electric bills were approximately $2,000. That is about the same amount we paid in our previous home, which was half the size of our new ICF home.
